Colors

Due to the fact that this website is a charity website, the colors of this page is mainly purple and white. Comparing to the other charity websites, each of the charity has their own different color. For example, Breast Cancer is pink, Hunger is orange, and Rainforest is blue.

Give it a simple touch to make the page more interesting by giving various shade of purple.

  

Proportion

The website is design to have the balance overlook throughout the page. Using the Rule of Third to apply in this layout, the website seems to look less boring. At the same time the attention are drawn towards Rescue Stories, and Pictures Sections.

Font

Using more interesting font on Menu Bar to emphasize and drawn attention to those that are not shown on the first page.

Target Audience 

The target audience of this website are the animal lovers, pets owner and kind-hearted people. Aiming at the wide range of age from teenager to the elders.These people might as well have adopted a pet and donated money to charity before.

Web Function

This website was made to gain awareness of the animals that are that are abandoned from all around the world. Every year more than 4 millions pets in the United State are put to death because they are unwanted. This website is created to raise money for animal charities to help those animals that needed.

  

Click to Give Free Food & Care, once a person click this button, the sponsors will fund for food and care to the animal shelters. This provide an easy way for  people to help the animals at the animal shelters. More over, there are online store, where all the profit of every purchase will go to charity as well.

Other than the charity, this website also provide animal news from all over the world as well as the rescue stories. This is where the reader can participate to the website. They are allow to write and share their rescue stories with uploaded pictures. To spread the articles around, news and stories can be share on facebook and twitter page.

Analysis

The strength of this website are the news, and petitions. Like no other website, the animal rescue site allows the audience to update with animal news that are going on around the world and let them go up against some cruelty that currently happening by signing the petition online.

The weakness of this website are the layout and unrelated link. The layout of this website is very unorganized, there are too many things going on and the gap space between wish column are very small. This makes the website looks very tight and messy. More over the tab on the side cannot be seen clearly and should be given more attention  to that area more than the unrelated link on top of the page which are not necessary. Instead it is emphasize and make it as a header menu bar which will be linked to another site.

"Click to Give Free Food & Care", are a big opportunity for this website, since not many website allows the audience to be a part of the charity by clicking a button. For the better chance of more recognition, the website can be present in a better layout format so that the audience will come back to visit the site more often and as the website will be more spread. 

The animal rescue site is not the only website that are concerned about animal being abandoned and rescue. There are many other sites that have the concept as this website. While the other sites might be more organized in the way that the audience can easily get through it. 

Areas of Improvement

There are many changes that can be make to make this website looks more attractive and make the audience wants to come back to visit again. First the existing header menu bar link should be put under one category, and bring up the all the link on the side bar to the top instead. Bigger gap should be put between each article/column to make it easier to look at. There should be a search bar on the page for all the article posted on the website not just only a search bar for merchandise in store. Lastly, there are many campaigns posted randomly on the page, these campaigns can be presented in a better way.
